And just like that, it's here. The real nature of the spirit of the season is something that still eludes me. Because as much as I enjoy buying gifts for my friends and family, and as much delight as I may take in the glow of a string of colored lights, the crackle of a fire, and the smell of warm mulled cider, there is something in the frenzy to consume that still sits ill at ease. That's why, rather than running a sale, I've chosen to do something a little different for the month of December.
The Native American Rights Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to asserting and defending the rights of indigenous Americans nationwide, working to protect tribal land and water rights, as well as the rights of the people native to that land. In Arizona, we are surrounded by the sacred, which makes the work to stand in firm opposition to encroaching and potentially devastating corporate interests all the more necessary. That's why 10% of any purchase you make from Bandito, whether on this site, in the shop, or from our Etsy, will be donated in support of this cause.
I feel a little like the grandma who makes a donation in your name for Christmas, but that's the grandma I had and the one I'd like to be.
